The House Saga

In early 1999, I had to buy a new house. This was because a couple of years earlier, I sold my previous house 2 months before they changed the laws about long term capital gains. This was also 2 months before housing prices in Sillycon Valley skyrocketed. Figures.

I wanted to find a house close to work, since my previous house was 15 miles from work, which translates to a 1 hour (at least) commute here in Sillycon Valley. I was determined to find a house in Sunnyvale, willing to give up all my money so that I wouldn't have to spend 2 hours a day commuting back and forth to work.

I finally did find a cute little (emphasis on little) house in Sunnyvale. It needed a few minor repairs, but I figured I could afford to fix a few things....

This is the ongoing story the house repairs and the various contractors I had the pleasure (and displeasure) of meeting. Since the house is 35 years old, I'm sure this story will continue for quite some time.....
